50 new jobs in Telford area as care firm recruits

Fifty new jobs could be created in the Telford area as part of a care firm's recruitment drive.

Home Instead Senior Care in Telford, Newport and Bridgnorth is looking for new "care givers" as the company continues to grow.

The company provides companionship services to help elderly people live independently in their own homes.

The team will looking to hold recruitment drives across the county, with the first taking place in Bridgnorth next Wednesday.

Recruitment manager Tracey McPhillips said the work suit people looking for a part-time role, or to work flexible hours.

"We operate differently to many other home care companies," she said.

"Our visits last a minimum of one hour to ensure enough time is given for proper care.

"We place emphasis on dignified and respectful domiciliary care that is tailored to the needs of each individual.

"We also match each client one-to-one with a caregiver, who shares similar interests, in order to help build a good relationship and ensure continuity of care.

"We're looking for individuals with natural empathy, from college leavers to people who have taken early retirement, who wish to give something back to their community."

Work can last from a few hours with trips to the shops or cinema, or more substantial work with more than 30 hours a week.

"All our caregivers receive comprehensive training, ongoing job support and competitive rates of pay," said Ms Philips.

Caregivers will be able to develop skills and qualifications, including working towards a QCF in health and social care, which has replaced the old NVQs.

The branch currently employs 55 caregivers and has been operating for four years.

The first recruitment meeting will be held in Bridgnorth Community Hall, from 10am until 3pm.
