Head of Google business to share tips at Shropshire event
Google's head of new business in the UK and Ireland will share tips for trading online when he is the guest speaker at an event in Shropshire next month.
Richard Pollin will be the guest at Shropshire Business Partnership's quarterly meeting at Shrewsbury Town FC's Greenhous Meadow stadium on September 26.
He was invited to speak at the event as SBP attempts to tackle the issues of local businesses' digital presence, to talk to companies about the latest developments in the digital world.
The breakfast event will explore Google's most popular online tools including Google Analytics, Google +, and Google Place.
Senior business manager Clwyd Evans from Barclays, which is sponsoring the session, will also talk about how the banking group is using digital tools to make business transactions simpler. SBP's Roy Broad said: "The introduction of a multitude of apps, devices, and social networks is transforming the way companies – from sole-traders right through to multi-nationals – are doing business.
"For many business owners across Shropshire however, the difficulty lies with knowing which technologies to adopt and how best to implement them. We chose to launch our Smart Digital Event to guide professionals across the region through the digital tools available to them, and how they can be incorporated into their own business plan."
Mr Broad added: "We're really privileged to welcome along Google's Richard Pollin to the session who is set to offer our guests a truly valuable insight into the tools Google has created to support businesses, as well as guidance on how they can best work for them.
"Clwyd Evans will also be joining us to discuss how having joined-up data and a mobile approach to business can transform transactions.
"Due to the popularity of the breakfast event spaces are naturally limited and seats are filling up fast, so I'd urge anyone interested in attending to reserve their seat by visiting our website www.shropshirebusiness.org, and using the online booking form which can be accessed via the SBP Events' page."
