Shropshire B&B is hailed as one of the best
A Shropshire bed and breakfast has been listed as one of the best in the country.
The owners of the Willington Lodge guest house in the quiet rural village of Horsemans Green, near Whitchurch, were overjoyed to have been rated among the top one per cent of establishments by travel review website Trip Advisor.
They bagged a TripAdvisor Travellers Award which honours hospitality excellence for guest houses that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on the site, which covers businesses worldwide.
Guesthouse owner Pamela Morris, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by TripAdvisor in this way and for our guests who have taken their time to provide us with valuable feedback. There must be thousands of B&Bs around the country, but to be listed in the top 25 in the whole country is just a dream come true.
"My husband Richard and me love what we do and have lovely guests staying with us from all over the world.
"We have recently had a Spanish family over Christmas visiting the area, an Australian family visiting family in the UK, three couples from United States touring the North Shropshire canals, plus guests who are attending local weddings at Iscoyd Park.
"We always aim to provide our guests with an excellent service. Many ask our advice about local restaurants, country walks and places to visit, it is always our pleasure to make suggestions."
She said they currently had 147 'Excellent' comments from guests at the restored Georgian house on the Trip Advisor website.
"Social media can be excellent for businesses such as ours, which provides future guests with an honest insight into what to expect before they arrive," she said.
"However, it certainly keeps you on your toes and you can never let standards slip.
"Winning the award is a true source of pride for the team and we'd like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review," Mrs Morris said.
