A new Argos Insert store will open within the Homebase store on Waymills Road in Whitchurch. The kiosk will be set up at the back of the store as part of several being rolled out by the retailers' owner across the country.

Argos and Homebase – along with Habitat – are owned by the Home Retail Group, which submitted plans for an Argos Insert in December last year.

It has now won permission from Shropshire Council to allow Argos to trade from the site.

Argos will take up around 185 square metres inside the store, primarily to run a "click and collect" service where customers can pick up goods ordered online.

Argos Insert has been trialled at a Homebase store in Dunfermline, in Scotland, and the Whitchurch project is one of several others across the UK.

Argos already has one store in Whitchurch, in Watergate, which will be unaffected by the move.
