Ellesmere convenience store closes down
Am Ellesmere convenience store in has closed its doors less than 12 months after opening.
Premier opened a shop in Scotland Street last January, replacing the Spar which closed down at the end of December 2014.
Now the Premier store has followed in the same steps and has closed.
Lincoln McMullan, chairman of All Together Ellesmere - the group which runs the Market Hall - is urging residents and visitors to support the market and local businesses.
He said: "People are not using their local facilities as much as they should do. It's either use them or lose them.
"Everyone seems to use the internet these days but what happens when all of the convenience stores have closed and you need to buy a loaf of bread or milk in the morning.
"People need to support our local businesses."
A spokesperson for the company said: "Premier stores are independently owned and we have no control or influence over their operations, therefore we are unable to comment further."
