20 new jobs as Shropshire builder's merchant expands
About 20 jobs are to be created when a builders' merchants opens a new branch in Shropshire.
Work has started on the six-acre site at Chartwell Park in Bridgnorth, where Tudor Griffiths Group will open a new branch in July.
The Ellesmere-based family-owned builders' services and materials specialist already operates seven branches and employs more than than 250 people in Shropshire, Cheshire, Worcestershire and mid and north Wales.
The latest branch is only 12 miles from an existing Tudor Griffiths site at Wolverley.
Managing director Tudor Griffiths said: "We're delighted to be bringing our well-known builders' merchants division to Bridgnorth and it's extremely exciting to see the new branch taking shape.
"It's also fantastic to be able to create up to 20 jobs which we're sure will bring a real boost to the local area, as well as supplying all the essential services and products that the local building trade requires."
The new division will stock building and construction materials, including timber, roofing products, drainage and decorating solutions, and lines from the Wolverley branch including garden supplies.
He added: "We're very proud to be bringing over 11,000 lines of stock to Bridgnorth, and our experienced team will ensure that industry professionals in the local area – and the general public – can get the products they need to get their jobs done.
"The landscaping range available in store will include everything from natural stone to decorative gravels and chippings, and there will be items in stock for the agriculture industry too including drainage and fencing.
"We're particularly pleased that the Bridgnorth branch has allowed us to bring a former brownfield site back into use and create a business that should make a real difference in the local area."
Tudor Griffiths Group also operates 12 ready mixed concrete plants, two sand and gravel quarries, a sea-dredged sand operation, recycling services and skip hire.
