Haleswood at Marsh Green, along with its four acres of grounds, are up for sale for £599,500.

Phil and Cheryl Armes have decided to sell it after five years running the business, which has been established for more than 30 years.

The couple had about 200 customers within a 30-mile radius, covering Telford, Shrewsbury and extending as far as Whitchurch.

Mrs Armes describes Haleswood, which is licensed to accommodate 30 dogs and 20 cats, as "a lovely place in the countryside to live and a nice job to do". The business operates seven days a week.

She said with her husband spending more time away from home on contract engineering work it had been left to run the business. Changes in their family circumstances had persuaded them to sell up.

She said: "The beautiful location is what attracted us to Haleswood in the first place.

"We had two dogs and we used to look after dogs for friends.

"I seem to have a natural affinity with dogs and my husband calls me the dog whisperer. It's a very profitable business but it seems the right time to move on."

Haleswood comprises a lounge, drawing room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast room, utility, lobby and wc on the ground floor with an en-suite bedroom, three further bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

A detached double garage has a first floor one bedroomed flat, which could be used as an annexe or holiday let and there are four acres of gardens and paddock, 16 cat kennels, 20 dog kennels, an office or store, three stables and a dog exercise area.

It also includes a stables, paddock, used to keep chicken and ducks, and horse shelter

The hamlet of Marsh Green is situated near the village of Longden upon Tern, around six miles from Telford, the M54 and wider motorway network.
