Aldi confirms opening date for new store in Welshpool
A new supermarket which will create 40 jobs will open in April, it has been confirmed.
Aldi will open its doors in Mill Lane, Welshpool, next to the Smithfield Bell pub. Local children visited the site during its construction and heard how Aldi stores are built by the German company.
The children, from Oldford Nursery and Infant School, had the opportunity to ask questions on how each store is built, how the layout is decided and even on what machines are used during construction.
Bryn Richards, property director of Aldi's Neston Region, said: "Hopefully we may have inspired the architects, builders and planners of the future."
Yvonne Naylor, headteacher of Oldford Nursery and Infant School, said: "I'd like to thank Aldi for allowing our pupils to visit the site and ask questions. The children had a great time and learnt a lot."
