Who's that knocking at our door?
This curious pair of peacocks were spotted strolling along a main Shropshire road.
The two elegant feathered birds were snapped on Holly Road in Dawley, Telford, by Linda Gough. Linda saw the birds on the driveway of a house.
They were later seen on Friday by Jane Pinter, Councillor for Dawley Magna, who saw the large, colourful peacocks by the Nisa Shop in Little Dawley.
Councillor Pinter thought they belonged to the The Cheshire Cheese Pub in Doseley, but they actually live on a field just behind the pub. They are looked after by Sam Hill, who lives in Doseley.
He has owned the birds for four months. Mr Hill said: "We got them in to have something a little different to wander around the field as we've got quite a lot of other poultry. They stayed for about two or three weeks and then just started wandering around. We've even seen them on the Buildwas bypass wandering up there.
"They've been seen trying to get in automatic doors on the Nisa in Little Dawley, roof jumping on peoples houses in the village and holding up traffic on main roads.
"They wander off and then come back for a feed but people feed them when they're away anyway.
"They haven't got names but I call them the community birds because everyone feeds them."
Paul Edginton, manager at the pub, said: "A lot of people come into the pub asking if they are our peacocks but they're not.
"There's a field just behind the pub where they are kept but they are always getting out.
"Their owner lives just around the corner. He's tried to catch them but he doesn't have much luck. "
