Unusual sight as horse gets into harness to harrow field in Shrewsbury

It's a sight you don't see that often in these days of tractors and heavy farm machinery – a horse harrowing a field.

But Tyler, a black and white cob, was out harrowing – pulling an implement for breaking up and smoothing out the surface of soil – in Shrewsbury at the weekend.

Tyler was brought in from Mid Wales to work on the Mousefield, next to Castle Walk, which links Cherry Orchard and Castlefields.

The field is being made ready for the sowing of wildflower seeds collected from the Shropshire Wildlife's Trust's land at Melverley Meadows, near Whitchurch.
