After winning the World Jampionships last year, Marj Paulson, of Muckleton Road in Shawbury, decided to enter the Tate & Lyle Baking Dreams competition – and once again she came out on top.

Mrs Paulson said: "I had to enter with what my baking dream would be, and I said I wanted to write a book, so it's going to be jams and marmalades and all sorts of easy baking."

And to help her along with reaching her dream, the competition awarded her £5,000, as well as any support she needs.

"I've always cooked," she said. "But it's probably since having my granddaughters that has got me into it even more.

"They love getting stuck in and licking the spoon at the end, so it's all easy baking that I do with them.

"I really enjoy trying out new flavours and experimenting with different ones, so I'm quite good at coming up with the recipes.

"The recipe book will hopefully have bakes using homemade jam, like lemon drizzle cake with homemade lemon curd."

But winning the competition hasn't put a stop to her dreams – in fact it's made her come up with some new ambitious ideas to share her skills.

She said: "I'd love to have a jam and cookery school at my house and teach people the skills from home, that would be really lovely.

"But another one, which is probably a bit too high in the sky for now, is a television programme.

"You see all these baking shows but it would be good to combine it with jam, and it could follow on from the book," she added.

But for now, the baking whizz is pulling together all her favourite recipes ready for the new release.
