Close shave in aid of Shropshire hospice

Three men from Shrewsbury will be feeling the cold a little more this week after having their heads and beards shaved off for charity.

Gordon Duncan, Alan Eames and Peter Love faced the razors to bring in sponsorship for the Severn Hospice.

The trio, who are all members of Shawbury and Mid Shropshire Rotary, have already raised more than £600 for the charity and still have money coming in.

Mr Love said: "We raised money for charity last Christmas as Santas on the Rotary sleigh, which toured villages in mid Shropshire and brought pleasure to a lot of youngsters.

"The head and beard shave is another adventure, this time in support of the Severn Hospice which we consider to be a most deserving cause.

"The donations I have personally been given already top the £600 mark and monies are continuing to come in.

"I am thrilled with this result on behalf of Severn Hospice."

All three were given their close back and sides by Amber Risdon, who runs Risdon's Barber Shop in The Market Hall, Shrewsbury, and colleague Michaela.
