More than 400 girls and leaders from across the county attended the event.

It was held to mark the introduction of the new Fun 'n' Flight badge, which will encourage the girls to explore flight.

Michelle Morgans, spokeswoman for RAF Cosford, said it was an honour to welcome so many girls to the base. She said: "This weekend, more than 400 girls and leaders from Rainbow and Brownie groups across Shropshire took part in an event at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford to launch their brand new Fun 'n' Flight challenge badge."

Activities included a flight simulator, treasure trail, and craft workshops.

"The badge, which explores the wonders of flight through science, art and craft, while having fun at the same time, will be available to all Girl Guide groups following the launch," she added.

"During the event, the Rainbows, who are aged five to seven and Brownies, who are aged seven to 10 years, took part in a whole host of fun and informative activities that gave them all the skills and information needed to successfully obtain their new badge."
