Telford garden's guests are quackers
Life is good for Sweet Pea and her five ducklings now they've set up camp in a garden pond.
She arrived in Jo and Ron Haseman's garden with her partner at the start of April and 30 days later her fluffy offspring hatched into the world.
The couple, of Priorslee, Telford, who have been nurturing their new lodgers, were today warning people about the dangers of feeding birds bread.
Mrs Haseman, 68, said: "We really don't want them to leave, I've been calling the mother duck Sweet Pea but I don't want to name them all because we will miss them too much when they've gone. The little ones have been in and out of our pond, leaping for flies and eating the pond weed.
"One thing people should never do is feed ducks or their offspring bread – it is so bad for them.
"They are about three weeks old and sooner or later they will begin to fly and feeding them bread could mean they won't grow properly.
"We've been looking after them by feeding them peas, duck food and other bits that we've checked will help them develop."
Volunteers from Cuan Wildlife Centre, Much Wenlock, are set to go and visit Sweet Pea to assess her progress.
