Dorothy Clive Garden, near Market Drayton, will hold the 1940s-themed event in support of the first ever National Cream Tea Day.

It will take place on June 26 – just after Royal Ascot and just before Wimbledon.

The fundraising event will be hosted on the tea room lawn at the garden where visitors will be able to choose from a selection of afternoon teas, including a gentleman's option. The event will also feature talks, demonstrations, live music, games, a vintage hair stylist, and best vintage costume contest.

Julia Roberts, from Dorothy Clive Garden, said: "The perfect get-together for families and friends, visitors can choose a variety of afternoon teas, including dainty finger sandwiches, handmade cakes, traditional homemade scones, finest quality loose leaf tea, and a glass of high quality Prosecco.

"The gentleman's afternoon tea option will include treats such as mini cheddar scones, scotch eggs, pork pie and chunky sandwiches, not forgetting the traditional homemade scone and to finish, a glass of whiskey or a gin and tonic.

"Throughout the day, visitors will be able to learn about afternoon tea etiquette, the history of tea, and the marriage of Prosecco."

The event runs from 1pm to 8pm.
