St Peter's Church in Easthope, near Much Wenlock, expects to welcome hundreds of people along for its open air concert.

The event will take place in a field behind the church raising money for three different organisations.

The concert has been run for the last two years and organiser Judith Goodman said it had grown in size each time.

"We have live bands and this year a ukulele band will be one of the star attractions," she said.

"Pupils from William Brookes School will be singing some of the classic musical scores.

"Nigel Verity, who is a top class musician, will perform on the Spanish guitar and it's always a great pleasure to welcome him.

"He is also a great keyboardist and Emma Burrows will also be singing on the day."

Money raised at the concert will go to the church, Severn Hospice and Armed Forces charity Help 4 Heroes.

Mrs Goodman said: "It is a lovely, quintessential event, with flag raising, bar, barbecue and hog roast.

"The church used to be used but as the event has grown we've decided to use the nearby field.

"The backdrop is beautiful because we have the church and the countryside behind us.

"We are getting better at organising it each year and it really has become a wonderful event.

Saturday's concert starts at 6pm. Tickets costing £6 and are available to purchase on the day.
