The highly-respected trainer, father of Shropshire's most successful fighter and former world champion Richie, passed away last month.

He had been battling bowel cancer.

The 75-year-old was a coach for over 40 years after moving to Telford from Birmingham in 1970 with his family.

He trained more than 60 championship-holding fighters across his career, guiding his son Richie to the WBC super-middleweight crown in 1998.

He helped open Wellington Boxing Academy and was one of the club's main trainers.

Mr Woodhall, of Warrensway in Woodside, is survived by his second wife Anne, Richie and his older brothers Lawrence and Steven.

His funeral will take place tomorrow from 2pm at Telford Crematorium.
