Seren Devismes, nine, will sing Think of Me, from Phantom of the Opera, in Cremorne Gardens as part of the entertainment on Saturday.

The Hanmer St Chad's School pupil first started performing in public earlier this month when she won Wrexham's Got Talent, and she performed an Italian song from an opera in front of thousands at Wrexham Football Club on Saturday.

Alison Devismes, Seren's mother, said her daughter was excited to be singing at the carnival because they had always enjoyed the event together.

"She is very excited because she is getting quite popular at the moment so I am trying to keep her feet on the ground," she said.

Miss Devismes said her daughter had wowed almost 3,000 people at the Wrexham versus Kettering Town football match on Saturday. "She was very good," she said.

"I think there were probably about 3,000 and she was a bit nervous, but when she got going she was great and they all said how good she was, so I was very proud."

Miss Devismes said: "We are Ellesmere born and bred and so the carnival is going to be extra special this year. She will be bringing a tear to some people's eyes, mine definitely, she has a very powerful voice."

The carnival takes place on Saturday.
