Hit musical Little Shop of Horrors will be brought to life in Shrewsbury by a new amateur theatre group this weekend.

Get Your Wigle On is a new musical theatre company which says it will be the first amateur group to perform in Theatre Severn's main auditorium.

The company will perform Little Shop of Horrors this Friday and Saturday, with a matinee performance on the Saturday. The group, whose members are aged between 18 and 40, has been rehearsing weekly since September.

A spokesman for the group said: "The show is full of lovable characters, great comedy writing and fabulous songs. It will be one of the first in the theatre to take advantage of the orchestra pit, which promises to add extra energy and excitement.

"The live band features excellent musicians including Toby Kearney, winner of the percussion section of BBC Young Musician of the Year 2006.

"The local cast features some of Shrewsbury's best talent and promises to deliver an enjoyable night's entertainment."

Tickets are priced between £8 and £12 and can be bought from the box office by calling (01743) 281281.
