V Festival super fan Vanessa Woodhouse is looking forward to the experience of a lifetime after winning a Shropshire Star competition to get access all areas at the annual two-day bash.

Mrs Woodhouse, 38, from Cleobury Mortimer, will mingle with some of her rock heroes at the Weston Park extravaganza after proving herself the county's number one V fan.

She said: "I can't believe I've won the Shropshire Star competition to find the V Festival's super fan. I'm thrilled."

Mrs Woodhouse will receive VIP access to a backstage area, where she'll be able to mingle with bands as they come off stage.

She said: "I've been to every V Festival, with one exception. This is a dream prize."

Mrs Woodhouse, of Langland Road, usually organises a village trip to the event.

"V came to Weston Park in 1999. The Stereophonics played and it was amazing."

Mrs Woodhouse said her V Festival highlight was meeting Newton Faulkner in 2007. We went to the security fence and begged them to let us meet him. The security guards couldn't let us in, but they passed on the message and he came out."

* Vanessa will compile an exclusive video diary from this year's V Festival, which you can watch the morning after the festival at www.shropshirestar.com
