The upstairs room of the Ironworks in Oswestry was filled with laughter when radio and TV comic Phill Jupitus arrived in town as part of his national book tour.
The star, best known for his appearances on TV show Never Mind The Buzzcocks, arrived at the entertainment venue to entertain a crowd of more than 100 people.
Armed with only a microphone Phill took to the stage in front of the packed audience to share some great and not so great moments of his life.
He started the evening by discussing the first time his daughter brought home a boyfriend and carried on to speak about playing Tetris, dieting, life in the world of television and drunk cooking.
Not only did he tell jokes, which saw people giggling in their seats, but he also performed some brilliant impressions of celebrities.
He managed to mimic the accents of well-known stars including Paul McCartney and Terry Wogan.
After the interval he came back to the stage and read an excerpt of his book titled Good Morning Nantwich: Adventures in Breakfast Radio.
His storytelling and presentation was excellent and helped to bring his thoughts and feelings off the page and into a rib-tickling reality.
The chapter he read out included his views on early morning radio shows and the different subjects the presenters talked about.
Phill then opened the floor to a question and answer section where he was quizzed over topics including who his favourite and not so favourite radio DJ's were and his preferred choice of computer font.
He answered all questions in a frank, honest and humours manner which only increased the audience's respect for him.
After the show he then stuck around to sign books and speak to fans.
The comedian really seemed to enjoy himself throughout the night and had time for all the members in the audience.
It was the perfect venue for a night with the star and Wednesday's show was an event which will stay in the memories of many in Oswestry for a very long time.
