Shropshire teenager Hayley Forrester hits our TV screens tonight as one of a group of budding young apprentices hoping to impress business tycoon Lord Alan Sugar.

The second series of Junior Apprentice, a version of the hit BBC show for younger contestants, starts tonight at 9pm.

The 17-year-becomes the second candidate to fly the flag for the region after Rhys Rosser, from Llanfyllin, appeared on the first series last year.

In the first task Hayley, from Northwood, near Wem, joins forces with the other girls to take on the boys in an ice-cream making task.

Lord Sugar instructs the teams to make frozen treats, ice creams, sorbets and frozen yogurts, and then sell them directly to the public.

Hayley, an A-level student who rears chickens and sells eggs, is in the running to win £25,000 to kick- start her own business venture if she wins.

She is one of 12 candidates out to impress business guru Lord Sugar and avoid the dreaded phrase 'you're fired' in the BBC1 show.

Hayley insisted her farming background would be no barrier to business success, saying: "I wear wellies, and I am not afraid to muck in."

The ambitious former head girl added her life 'revolves around order'.

A farmer's daughter and member of a young farmers' club, she said she passionately disagrees with people claiming benefits when they could be working.
