It's that time already again – the spring bank holiday is here and with it a whole range of fun things you and your family can enjoy across the county. Here are just a few things that are happening across the region.

Osfest: Friday May 24 – Monday May 27

Snap up your tickets fast as there are fewer than 1,000 tickets left for Shropshire's biggest music festival. Saturday could be pop fans' last chance to see one of Britain's biggest boy bands JLS perform before they part ways later this year. Other acts include Wiley, The Enemy, Lawson, Lucy Spraggen, James Arthur and The Pigeon Detectives. Weekend camping tickets for adults start at £69. Day tickets for adults start at £34. Queen Victoria's Birthday and Float a boat at Ironbridge: Saturday May 25 -Monday May 27

Join the residents of Blists Hills Victorian town over the spring bank holiday weekend as they celebrate the 81st birthday of her Majesty Queen Victoria. Packed with British pageantry,visitors will be able to enjoy aagpipe music performed by the Seaforth Highlanders in full Scottish costume while taking part in several traditional activities.

Younger visitors can watch a traditional Punch and Judy show or search for lost toys hidden around the town, while the adults can unwind with some traditional ale in the town's New inn pub.

Shropshire County Show: Saturday May 25

This annual show attracts thousands of people from all across the country to the West Mids Showground in Shrewsbury. It's a fantastic celebration of the rural community and the important role it plays in our lives. Visitors are able to meet and greet the extensive selection of livestock as well as seeing live sheep shearing demos. The perfect place to get your hands on some of the best produce in Shropshire. Women in Aviation at Cosford Air Museum: Monday May 27 - Friday May 31

This bank holiday RAF Cosford is celebrating the amazing achievements made by women in aviation. From Monday to Friday the museum will be running sessions all the family can enjoy based on some of aviations most inspiring women, including English aviator Amy Johnson who set numerous long distance records in 1930s and was one of the first women to fly in the Second World War.

It's just not women on the past who are being celebrated, as some of the museums female apprentices will be showing off their skills over the weekend. Children are invited to take park in the 'Women in aviation trail' which will be running all weekend. This event is free of charge and sessions will run throughout the half term week. Medieval Weekend at Hawkstone Follies: Saturday May 25 - Monday May 27

Visitors will be able to get up close and personal to members of the re-enactment society as they showcase what life was really like in the 13th Century. Stand back and watch as they demonstrate their skills and trades or get stuck in with some have a go archery and even train to be a knight. Enjoy displays soldiers practising their combat techniques before they head into battle and experience some cold Norman Justice. Battles and workshops run all weekend.

Hang out with a hawk at Attingham Park: Saturday May 25

Get the bank holiday off to a flying start when the Feather Perfect Falconry showcase a wide range of birds of prey. The birds will be on show in a static display with their handlers nearby ready to share their extensive knowledge. Flying displays take place at 2pm.

Please note the birds will be resting between noon and 1pm so will not be on display during that time. Normal Admission charges apply.

Spring time family trail at Stokesay Castle: Saturday May 25 - Sunday June 2

Visit the best preserved medieval castle house in England and explore its grounds in this year's family trail. Visitors will have to track down all the clues hidden around the gardens then solve the riddle to claim your chocolate prize.

The house and moat walk will also be open during the week. Normal admission charges apply.

Spring fair at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm: Saturday May 25 - Monday May 27

Spring has sprung at Acton Scott Historic Working Farm. All bank holiday weekend visitors will be able to get involved with traditional games, trails and activities. Learn all about what life was like for Shropshire farmers at the turn of the 19th century.

There will demonstrations of period skills from the Wheelwright, Farrier and the Blacksmith all who provide an amazing picture of life as it was on the Victorian Country estate. On the Saturday visitors will be able to learn the basics of felt making for £5.00, booking for the felt making course is essential.

Spring Food and Craft Fair at Weston Park: Monday May 27

For lovers of homemade food the Spring food and craft fair is for you. Weston Park will be home to over 45 stalls ranging from local produce to handmade art, craft and gifts.

The house and park will be open as normal for visitors to explore and the children can run wild in the adventure playground.

Great Games at Dudmaston Hall: Sunday May 26 - Monday May 27 & Wednesday May 29

Do you know how to hoola hoop? Put your skills to the test at the great games garden trail at Dudmaston hall. On the 26th, 27th and 29th May visitors will be able to try their luck at traditional games and even have a go at designing and making your own game to take home with you.
