Join the Mad Hatter's Tea Party at Blists Hill Victorian Town

People in Telford are being given the chance to take a step into Alice in Wonderland's world of fantasy and make-believe by taking a seat at the table of the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.

Visitors to Blists Hill Victorian Town in Ironbridge will also be have a game of croquet with the Queen of Hearts and follow the clues around the town to track down the Cheshire Cat over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Guests will also be able to watch cameo mimes and scenes from the book performed by costumed characters from the Kaleidoscope and Sundial theatre groups.

There will also be a variety of hands on activities for youngsters such as colouring Alice themed illustrations.

There will be a competition to find the best dressed person in a costume from the book.

The judging will take place at the tea party and the prize will be a portrait by the Town's photographer, so be sure to wear your best costumes.

The Alice's Adventures in Wonderland event is part of Blists Hill's 40th anniversary celebrations and will be held over the bank holiday weekend.

Doors will open at 10am and will finish at 5pm.

John Challen, operations manager at Blists Hill Victorian Town, said: "The Alice's Adventures in Wonderland weekend is one of the highlights of our events programme. It's always a hugely popular weekend with people really getting in to the spirit of the event."
