Recognisable from Wacaday and Mallett's Mallet, Timmy is now earning recognition as a professional artist.

His award-winning impressionist pieces are drawn from his travels across the UK and the world.

At Warwick University he studied history and history of art and said since then a paint brush has never been far from his reach.

Now, some of Timmy's highly collectible pieces will be going on display at Artworx Gallery in Newport High Street.

Gallery manager Ashley Corrigan said: "We have been showcasing Timmy's original art for several years now and the reputation he has built for himself is a fantastic testament of his ability and devotion to painting.

"It gives me great pleasure when I'm asked by visitors if the piece is painted by The Timmy Mallett.

"At first they look in disbelief, but once I've shed some light on his artistic background they seem even more fascinated by the work.

"I recently met Timmy Mallett at an art event, and while he upheld this fun and wacky façade that we know and love from his TV days, he also came across as very articulate and passionate towards his art work down to the finer details."

Timmy's artwork is recognised worldwide and his work is widely collected.

He has also created several pieces of street art to raise money for charity, including a life size gorilla in Bristol, the Remembrance Day piano in Preston and the Ring A Royal phone box at Windsor Castle. He has also painted many famous faces including Lorraine Kelly, Sir Clive Woodward, Jim Rosenthal and Wendy Craig.

Mallett also won the Fine Art Trade Guild Award for Best Up and Coming Artist 2012.
