The bus will run from Welshpool town centre to the Bob Jones Memorial Air Show on Sunday at Mid Wales Airport, according to town clerk Robert Robinson.

The line-up for the show will the Red Arrows, an Avro Vulcan, an RAF Eurofighter Tycoon and an aerobatics team.

Mr Jones, 60, died when the light aircraft he was flying with former easyJet pilot Steven Carr, 55, from Ruthin, North Wales, crashed into trees on Long Mountain, Welshpool, in January 2012.

Mr Jones founded Mid Wales Airport in Welshpool and was one of the town's most well-known residents before his death.

The Welshpool Air Show was re-named in his honour after he died.

Mr Robinson said: "People travelling to the air show on Sunday can do so free of charge on a special bus service from Welshpool town centre.

"The double decker bus, provided by Tanat Valley, starts 9am from the Tourist Information Centre, off Church Street and will then provide a shuttle service to the Airport every 30 minutes throughout the day to the airport on the outskirts of town.

"The 2014 line up for displays sees the return of the Red Arrows, Avro Vulcan XH558; RAF Eurofighter Typhoon; and aerobatics from the RV8tors, close formation flying from the Old Buckers and formation wing-walking from the Breitling Wing-Walkers.

"Back again this year is the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight comprising the Spitfire, Hurricane and Dakota to name but a few. Official displays are expected to start late morning and finishing, as usual, with the RAF Falcons parachute display around 5pm.

"During gaps in the flying programme, why not pop over to the transport festival arena to watch the cavalcade. The number of entries this year are well over 150 and include classic cars, motorcycles, tractors and lorries and including for the first time this year, the UK's top nostalgia dragster aptly named 'Two Much'.

"On the ground there are plenty of attractions for all ages, with flight simulators, static displays, food and refreshment stalls, go-karts, bouncy castle, Mid Wales Model Boat Club with their sailing pond, face painting, craft stalls in the main marquee and many other local trade stands."

Artist David Walker will also be demonstrating at the show.
