It is part of the 41-year-old's week-long Student Tour of different universities across the UK.

Mills will be joined by fellow Radio 1 star Chris Stark for the live show on October 7, where the pair will spend 24 hours at the Newport site.

The duo are ambassadors for the National Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, and have previously DJ'd at the agricultural university before.

Mills said on his show today how he cannot wait to come to Harper Adams.

"I never went to university," he told Stark. "We are going on a Student Tour and we are visiting five universities in one week.

"We are going to places Radio 1 hasn't been to for a while and for some reason they are happy to have us.

"We will start our tour in Scotland at Sterling University, then to Liverpool, then to agricultural university Harper Adams in Shropshire.

"Then we go to Aberystwyth where it's full of students and then we end at Chris's old university and my home town Southampton.

"We are very excited to be doing our everyday show for thousands of students, and people can watch on the BBC red button, and on their mobiles and laptops throughout the week.

"I am so excited to be taking the show on the road and spending the week with people that absolutely love Radio 1 - the students of the UK."

Stark added: "This is going to be a lot of fun and I can't wait to show Scott everything that university is about. Radio 1 was the soundtrack to my time at uni so I can't wait to go back."

The Scott Mills show is on BBC Radio 1 every weekday from 1pm until 4pm.
