Boycie, aka actor John Challis, who lives near Ludlow, performed at Market Drayton's Festival Drayton Centre.

He held his talk show, Only Fools and Boycie, where he revealed the secrets from the set with stories and anecdotes from his career.

Spilled

Having worked with some of the biggest names in showbusiness, he spilled the beans about Only Fools and Horses co-stars like Sir David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst and friends and fellow performers like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Oliver Reed and George Best.

He also recalled tales from his time in Dr Who, Coronation Street and other TV classics during Friday night's show.

Mr Challis also met fans after the show to sign autographs and pose for pictures, while signing copies of his autobiography, Being Boycie, and novel, Reggie: A Stag At Bay.

He said: "I have been doing the show for a couple of years and started off on cruise ships.

"I tell a lot of stories, including some of the situations I have found myself in.

"It went so well last time they have invited me back. I find the people of Shropshire very accommodating."

Geoff Vernon, chairman of the centre, said: "It is always nice to have a familiar face perform at the Festival Drayton Centre.

"It represents a positive start to our autumn season of live events.

"He has performed here once before and it is always nice to welcome people back."

Mr Challis has a staggering 50,000 followers on Twitter, which makes him one of Britain's most influential veteran Tweeters.

He will next be performing in Shropshire at Telford's Oakengates Theatre @ The Place in November.
