Spotlight Awards 2015: Shropshire's best food and entertainment venues pick up gongs
Shropshire's best-loved eating and entertainment venues had their moment in the limelight when they were celebrated at the Spotlight Awards.
Thousands of Shropshire Star readers voted for their favourite socialising spots and the finalists gathered this evening at a glitzy awards ceremony held at Theatre Severn in Shewsbury on Tuesday night.
It was the second year the Shropshire Star had run the Spotlight Awards and this year's nine categories ranged from Best Pub to Best Fish and Chips and Event Of The Year.
Hosting the event , Andy Goulding from Free Radio said there had been an overwhelming response from readers.
He said: "More than 15,000 votes were received. Thank you so much for encouraging your customers to support the campaign."

Winners announced during the evening were presented with a trophy and certificate.
The first award to be handed out was for the Best Cafe or Tea Room, sponsored by Powerpoint Stores, and the prize went to Number Four, a modern eatery based in Butcher Row, Shrewsbury.
Also enjoying a moment in the limelight was the Hundred House Hotel, who last year won the Best Posh Nosh Award and this year scooped the award for Best Restaurant.
The award was sponsored by The Huntsman of Little Wenlock.
The Hundred House Hotel, in Telford, has been owned and run by the Phillips family for the past 30 years.
Best Fish and Chips was sponsored by potato supplier Scott and Newman and went to The Silver Fish based on Tan Bank in Wellington.
Ludlow Food Centre was crowned Food and Drink Champion, which was a brand new category sponsored by the British Ironwork Centre.
Located on the Earl of Plymouth's estate, the centre allows visitors to purchase their produce and watch artisans at work whilst sampling their produce in the food hall.
The award for Best Pub, sponsored by Shropshire Star, went to The Huntsman of Little Wenlock.
Henry Tudor House in Shrewsbury won the Best Night Out award, sponsored by Hobs and Hotplates, while two awards were given for Best Family Day Out.
Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom, in Telford, was crowned the winner of the small venue category, sponsored by Q Hotels Telford, while the best large venue, sponsored by Telford College of Arts and Technology, went to the Ironbridge Gorge Museums.
The final award of the night, sponsored by Park Inn by Radisson, went to the RAF Cosford Air Show for Event Of The Year.
