Telford panto sales set to beat last year's
Ticket sales for this year's Telford pantomime are on course to beat last year's, organisers said today.
The official sales figures have not yet been released for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Oakengates Theatre, as the last show is this Sunday.
But Telford & Wrekin Council said early indications show this year's panto has sold more tickets than 2014's Beauty and the Beast.
Spokesman Richard Atkins, for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "We have sold a lot more tickets than last year's show, but we do not know the exact number. The last show is on Sunday and we will have a better of idea of official numbers following that.
"The whole show has been well received and has gone really well.
"At the moment we do not know what next year's pantomime will be, as that is yet to be confirmed."
Former Hollyoaks and Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards and Nicole Faraday, from Bad Girls and Emmerdale, are among the cast for the show. The show was directed by Ian Billings, who also starred on stage, while Snow White was played by Amy Reader.
Relaxed performances were also available towards the end of the run, when sound and lighting was turned down to make it more suitable for young children or those who can find the theatre unsettling.
The special performance also included a quiet zone where people could go to unwind and then return to their seats in the auditorium when they are ready.
