Organisers of a food festival are calling on businesses to get their applications for stalls in – or risk losing a place.

The Ellesmere Food and Drink Festival held each year in June is already filling up and regular businesses could miss out.

The chamber of trade and commerce for Ellesmere, which runs the event, is already having to turn people away with categories filling up months in advance.

One of the organisers Lincoln McMullan said he hopes to see frequent attendees sign up as soon as possible.

He said: "We have had a lot of people saying they want to do Indian food, and a lot of people want to do beer or things like that.

"So I am having to turn quite a few people away unfortunately.

"My concern is that the people that normally come haven't booked on yet and I would have to turn them away if we have too many in that category.

"So I am trying to get regulars to come and book on or I will have to give those spaces away."

The event will run on June 18 and 19 and will be held in the town at the Market Hall and in the Town Hall from 10am to 4pm each day. To download a booking form visit here.
