Five schools in Market Drayton music festival
A medley of old and new songs were sung by primary school children from across north Shropshire as part of an annual music festival.
Pupils from five schools came together at Market Drayton Junior School to sing songs.
The event was organised by the school and Dot Atkins from Shropshire Music Service.
Georgie Wakelin, music co-ordinator at the school, said: "The event went perfectly.
"Dot Atkin came along to teach the pupils different songs and vocal warm ups.
"The five schools that took part where Buntingsdale, Longlands, Hinstock and Woore and everyone really enjoyed it. They all sung together and then each school performed a song they had learnt.
"They were a good mix of pop songs and classics.
"There were a mixture of ages and all the pupils joined in. We have two choirs at the school with 30 children in each one so singing is a popular hobby here.
"We take the children to perform at all kinds of different events and competitions.
"They really enjoy it and it is something we champion and get behind."
Shropshire Music Service provides instrumental, vocal and curriculum support for schools throughout Shropshire.
The aim of the music service is to provide, develop and support the highest quality of music education in Shropshire and to give young people performing opportunities in schools and in the community.
