Fantasy author visits Shropshire school
Imaginations ran wild when a fantasy author dropped in to talk to schoolchildren in north Shropshire.
Alwyn Hamilton visited Packwood Haugh School in Ruyton-XI-Towns to talk about her novel, Rebel of the Sands. Her visit inspired a whole host of fantastic, weird and wonderful ideas from senior pupils as they took part in a world building exercise under her guidance.
Catherine Hammond, from Packwood Haugh, said the session elicited an enthusiastic and eclectic response.

Alwyn also spoke to pupils in years six to eight about the inspiration behind the book, including the stories she read as a child and the art she studied at university.
