Watch: Shropshire antiques centre gets Salvage Hunters TV show boost
A Shropshire antiques centre that has been open for just under two years has seen visitor numbers leap up since being featured on TV show Salvage Hunters.
Jones of Shropshire run their centre at Rudge Heath near Claverley and were featured on the TV show last week.
Oli Jones, 28, who runs the antique centre with his wife Emma, said that their appearance on the show came after they saw an advert asking if anyone was interested in being on it.
He said: "We applied and then a location scout came down to see us. The next thing we know they are calling us to book in a film crew.
"The film crew came here last September and the presenters were mostly interested in industrial salvage, things like shop counters and railway signs – and they bought several items too. It was strange seeing myself on TV and the most surprising thing was how strongly my accent came out."
Oli, who lives with his wife in Ironbridge, said that he and Emma had always been interested in antiques and used to sell them from another centre.
He said: "But we decided we wanted to open our own antiques centre if we could find the right premises and location.
"Since opening at Rudge Heath the business has gone really well and we now have 44 traders operating from our site.
"Antiques and retro is a very interesting business to be in as you can never predict what is going to sell."
