The 22-year-old will now feature on BBC Introducing, and hear his track played six times in front of an international audience. Screw Loose has also been named BBC Radio Shropshire's track of the month for March.

"It's an incredible feeling," the former Grange School student said. "Hopefully it will go on to get a record label interested.

"I always used to perform when I was at school. I wanted to do drama but it wasn't really working, then I got my first guitar when I was about 16 and started writing music from there."

Zach went to Teesside University to study computer science, but found himself more interested in music. He added: "At university I got addicted to open mics and performing."

He is also playing at Shrewsbury's The Big Busk on April 2, and will be on BBC's Introducing Stage in May.
