Downton's author inspired by Attingham Park estate
A series loosely based on one of Shropshire's historic estates has been launched by the author behind Downton Abbey.
Julian Fellowes has released his most recent project, a novel called Belgravia, which has been inspired by Attingham Park near Shrewsbury.
Lord Fellowes, who won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for his first produced film Gosford Park, launched the book yesterday.
The novel is in a free app format containing the first episode which can be downloaded on to smartphones and tablets.
A further 10 episodes will be released week by week and can also be listened to as audiobooks.
The episodes all contain extra content around the story such as video, music, background information on the history of the period, fashions, family trees and competitions.
Attingham Park is expected to appear in episode three of the series available to download on Thursday.
