Telford Beer Festival will return to two pubs tomorrow.

Dozens of cooled hand pulled beers and continental bottled beers will be on offer at both the Crown Inn, Oakengates, and the Elephant and Castle in Dawley.

Organiser John Ellis, landlord of the pubs, says it is the largest pub-based beer festival, with 46 beers at the Crown and 12 more in Dawley.

The event will be the 40th time it has been held and the event regularly attracts drinkers from all over the country.

Mr Ellis said: "There is a great interest in tasty new beers and we've offered thousands of them over the last few years.

"There is a lot of talk about 'craft beer' at the moment but well-crafted

quality beer is what we have always offered."

Mr Ellis says he aims to bring as many new, or lesser known beer to the pumps throughout the event.

The event will run from Thursday until the following Monday from noon at the Crown on Market Street, Oakengates and 4pm at the Elephant and Castle on High Street, Dawley and entry is free.

The Crown Inn also hosts Shropshire's longest running Open Mic Night on a Thursday.

Live from 8.45 will take place during the festival and Mr Ellis hopes kind weather will mean revellers can enjoy their beers in the pub gardens.
