It's Hogwarts . . . in Shropshire: Welcome to family's Harry Potter house
[gallery] With trunks in the corner, spell books and the house flags on the wall, you might even think you'd been transported to Hogwarts in this dining room.
The Kyriakou family decided to transform the room at their home in Bayston Hill, near Shrewsbury, into the Great Hall inspired by the JK Rowling Harry Potter books.
Charlotte, 31, said they were determined to do it after visiting the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour in London, and have spent more than £10,000 since starting in March last year.
She said: "We went down to the studio tour and when you get there it is like going into a big tin shed, and you go into the Great Hall.
"So we thought why not do that in our dining room.
"We had one room left to renovate and we really didn't want it to be the same as the rest of the house."
Her partner Andrew, along with children Eleni, three, Max, four, and Kiri, six, all helped transform the room.
The wooden panels were made by Mr Kyriakou , while the stone effect walls were delivered from Spain, and a lot of the decor came from antiques shops.
The room features some props used in the films, along with Puking Pastilles, the Marauder's Map and chocolate frogs.
There are also quills, a suit of armour and a broomstick in the corner.
Mrs Kyriakou said: "We had a Christmas dinner in here and managed to get 22 people in with the extra table from the kitchen. We love it. It is definitley worth the money for us.
"Our favourite bits are sitting round the table having big family meals.
"The children like anything Harry Potter. I have been reading them the books, we are on the third one at the moment.
"I have always loved it from the moment I read Philosopher's Stone."
