Could major concerts be on the way to Telford's New Bucks Head?

Concerts and big events could be coming to AFC Telford, under the charge of the club's new commercial manager.The New Bucks Head could be the home to major concerts and events in a bid to boost business at the club. Lee Griffiths, commercial and business sales manager at AFC Telford, started on Monday. He has a track record for seeking opportunities to bring in extra revenue by widening the use of sports grounds. He said he was looking forward to developing the business in Telford and helping the club grow both on and off the field. He said football was the first priority as he settles in but that there were exciting times ahead. He added: "The game against Wrexham was the first thing on the agenda. "This was the first chance for me to see the team play as someone who is involved in the club. It is a chance to meet some of the fans and people involved in the sport as well. But there is chance to help develop other areas as well." Mr Griffiths, who is based in Shropshire, has previous experience in hotel sales and marketing. Club chairman, Ian Dosser said: "We have been extensive in our search for a commercial manager, and we are delighted to have captured someone of Lee's enthusiasm, aptitude and pedigree. We're certain he can continue the good work started last season and grow the commercial activity of the club to support the ambitions of our club." Mr Griffiths added: "When I first walked around the stadium I was knocked out by the surroundings and the potential at the Bucks Head. "I am keen to get stuck in as soon as possible to help generate the revenue which will support the short, medium and longer terms aims of the club. "I'm looking forward to meeting many fans, existing partners and sponsors and businesses over the coming days and weeks."
