Fresh blow to Shrewsbury Fields Forever - but organisers hopeful event will go ahead
Fresh doubts have been cast over the future of a music festival after it lost its venue.
The Shrewsbury Fields Forever Festival was due to be held over the weekend of September 16 to 18 in The Quarry.
The event was originally due to have been held in July but was postponed over problems with a production company.
Now Shrewsbury Town Council, which runs The Quarry, said it will no longer proceed with the booking.
Councillor Jon Tandy said: "Our focus has always been to ensure quality events that show good value for money and that leave those event goers feeling they have had a good time. In this case I am afraid we couldn't be assured that those values could be achieved."
The festival's organisers said: "Hopefully we will fix this and all will be dandy."
