Pupils from Baschurch Primary and St Andrew's Primary School in Nesscliffe will perform dances they have learnt through the Helping Hands, Dancing Feet initiative.

The youngsters will be one of the attractions at next weekend's event.

Digital technology will also incorporate performances by pupils from Sundorne School, Shrewsbury and the Severndale Specialist Academy, Shrewsbury, during the show. Following on from a dance showcase, pupils chose one dance genre to learn ranging from traditional English clogging and Indian kathak, to African dance and Spanish flamenco. Professional dancers held workshops at the schools along with rehearsals this month. Children will debut their new skills on the second stage of the festival at noon on bank holiday Monday.

Helping Hands, Dancing Feet is part of the festival's All Together Now programme, which aims to introduce new audiences to folk, world music and dance, using £86,410 funding from National Lottery through Arts Council England, a £5,000 Shropshire Council Arts Development award and £2,000 from Shrewsbury Town Council.
