The Market Drayton Transport Festival saw people flock to the event to see a whole range of vehicles on display.

With more than 200 vehicles packed on to the field, organisers said they were very pleased with how the second annual event has gone.

Organiser Nathan Shore said the event was organised in a bid to raise funds for Ward 23 for haematology and oncology at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

Mr Shore said: "We are aiming to buy equipment like last year so we can see what our efforts and people's generosity goes towards."

The event was held at Palethorpes Pork Farms and featured vintage lorries, cars and vans as well as bikes and trucks and more modern vehicles. He added: "It went really really well. We are so pleased so many people came to support the event.

"The field could not have been more packed with vehicles. Hundreds of people came through the gates as well. The weather held out for us. It was a real community event and a lovely atmosphere.

"The procession round the town was a real highlight and lots of people came out of their houses to wave at us.

"Lots of local businesses donated prizes for the raffle as well so a big thank you to them and everyone who helped.

"We will certainly be holding another festival next year."

There was also lots of entertainment for children including puppet shows and a fairground.
