Marc Brimble, a RHS gold medal winning gardener, has been focusing on his passion for photography for the past few years.

Mr Brimble said he always had an interest in photography but has taken it more seriously in the last three to four years.

Originally inspired to take pictures of plants, gardens and landscapes, he has more recently become interested in 'street photography', which sees him capturing images of the people, places and culture of a city.

Mr Brimble, from Market Drayton, said street photography was originally developed in the 1930s by famous photographers such as Henri Cartier Bresson and the "Magnum" group of photographers.

He added: "After finding out about the work of present day street photographer Valérie Jardin of Minneapolis on You Tube, I attended one of Valérie's international workshop focusing on Paris.

"I will soon be attending an Amsterdam workshop.

"I was delighted when Carol Jones, owner of Jones's Café in Market Drayton, agreed that I could exhibit my photographs of Paris café culture and street life, along with botanical and, my latest passion, 'painterly style' landscapes for the month of September."

The 'Paris Life' exhibition was launched at Jones' Cafe on Wednesday with a musical afternoon featuring a performance by 14-year-old Ruby Howells, on the flute, and her grandad Graham Richardson, on guitar and vocals.

Formerly a pupil at Market Drayton Infant and Primary Schools, Ruby is now a student at Newport Girls High School.

She has just completed her first year of studying flute and piano every Saturday at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

A further exhibition of Marc's work will be taking place at the Festival Centre in Market Drayton early next year.

Additional exhibitions are scheduled to take place around Shropshire, including in Oswestry and Whitchurch.

The exhibition at Jones's Cafe in High Street, Market Drayton, will run until the end of September.
