Rodington Village Hall hosted the event on Saturday.

The exhibition raises money for the hall in the village, near Telford, but also attracts modellers from across the country.

Organiser John Perkin said: "The layouts come from all over, the furthest was from Oxford.

"We had 14 layouts in attendance together with trade support and the general consensus of the public was that it was a worthwhile day and good day out.

"It's not just for railway enthusiasts, the idea is that it's for the general public and family oriented.

"Some of the layouts are based on reality and some are not.

"This year we had one that depicted the last days of steam, with engines in a state of disrepair, which was interesting.

"There were narrow gauge and standard gauge railways represented and a small layout with Thomas the Tank Engine that children could ride around. The good thing is that the village hall has good parking facilities and refreshments."

He said the amount raised by the event had yet to be counted, but it would be put to good use.

"The money raised from it will go towards general improvements for the village hall, in particular the disabled facilities," he said.

"The hall is disabled-friendly already but we want it to be more disabled friendly."

Rodington Village Hall is used on a regular basis for a number of activities, from indoor bowls to painting and computer sessions.

It has a stage and changing room, licensed bar, meeting room with WiFi broadband internet and modern kitchen facilities.
