Ink-credible Telford artists in charity 24-hour tattoo-a-thon
Images of a mouse nibbling cheese and roses are among the variety of colourful artwork chosen by customers taking part in a 24-hour tattoo-a-thon in aid of a children's charitable fund.
Tattoo artist Rob Saxon, of Some'ink Different, and Garth Cole-Jones, 43, have been working non-stop for 24 hours with no gaps at the studio in Telford.
The fundraiser was launched at 9am yesterday through to this morning and saw callers cough up £35 an hour to get drawings done with all the proceeds going to BBC Children in Need.
Last year the shop, in Limes Walk, Oakengates, held a similar event that raised of £1,765 and the staff say they hope to beat that total this time round.
Mr Saxon, 40, said: "The morning has gone really quickly. We had seven people come in within the first five hours which is good going. Passers-by and some factory workers in the area have called in with donations as well.
"People have been asking for all sorts of things. One client asked us to draw a mouse nibbling a piece of cheese, there were roses and quite a few requests for skulls. The requests were mainly for things that can be completed within an hour, but there were some that we started that will be completed at a later date.
"Every single penny will go Children in Need.
We have children and thankfully they're not wanting for anything, but some children aren't as fortunate and that's why we're backing the appeal. People from the area are welcome to bring in cash donations as we'll be collecting for the next few days."
