Christmas lights are currently being switched on across the region – but they will have to go some to beat this spectacular display.

Powis Castle in Welshpool has been lit up as part of its illuminated after dark garden walks.
The medieval castle is brought to life at winter with a series of open evenings where the castle is illuminated in bright hues ahead of the festive season. Visitors can wander along the terraces and though the gardens where illuminated statues light the way. The events also give people the chance to take in the state rooms at the National Trust property.
The next open evening is on Friday from 5pm, with last entry at 7.30pm.
