The lorry has become a Christmas icon, and people came from all over to pose for pictures when it parked up at Telford Shopping Centre

Excitement was building throughout yesterday, with people sharing pictures of the truck as it made its way through Telford.

It was spotted early in the morning parked in the car park at Telford Central railway station.

It then made its way to the shopping centre where it waited from 1pm to 9pm where queues built of people waiting to see it and enjoy a can of coke.

When the lights went out, there was a light show projected onto its side.

Along with Telford the truck is visiting another 43 stops up and down the country in the run up to Christmas.

During the tour one person will win a personal visit to their home from the Christmas truck and a Santa sack full of goodies worth £5,000.

Coca-Cola has made the Christmas tour an annual event, part of its marketing campaign that ties in with its classic television advert.#

The company says hundreds of thousands of people have turned out to see the lorry as it has made its way around the UK.

Aedamar Howlett, marketing director for Coca-Cola Great Britain said: "Coca-Cola is synonymous with the Christmas season and it's no secret that our much-loved Holidays Are Coming advert and the Christmas truck tour mark the unofficial countdown to Christmas.

"This year, we'll also put those people who work behind the scenes at the heart of our Christmas campaign."
