Ellesmere photographer snapping picture for each day
A keen amateur photographer is two thirds of the way through an an ambitious project – to take a picture a day for every day of the year.
Ian Andrew, from Ellesmere, is now over 200 days into the venture, capturing the world around him for 365 days.
His project has resulted in some spectacular photographs including landscapes, portraits and documentation as well as the obligatory 'selfie'.
He said: "It started as a hobby really and developed into a project. I've been taking pictures for 15 years and wanted to push myself a bit to pick up the camera."
Mr Andrew has shown his work at local exhibitions and considers himself to be a passionate non-professional.
He first started using a camera 15 years ago and taught himself photography on his Nikon D7100 SLR.
His work is also published online and has been praised by those who look forward to seeing what he has chosen for his subject each day.
"I focus on everyday activities and try to make the mundane look interesting," he said.
"It has sucked up a lot of time. People to set out to do this usually bale three months in, saying what next, where do I go now? There are days when it's difficult. It's certainly taught me to look more at the world around me." Mr Andrew is constantly seeking inspiration, using local subjects and encouraging people around him to get involved.
"This time of year is easier; there are beautiful sunsets and generally more going on. I use local subjects for my portraiture."
