1940s-style event planned for Ironbridge Gorge
Preparations are under way for a 1940s-style entertainment night in the shadow of Shropshire's famous Iron Bridge.
The event will drum up funds for a war-time re-enactment festival that supports a charity for wounded soldiers.
The music night will raise funds towards the cost of putting on the main event at Shropshire's World Heritage Site in the spring.
It will be the first time the 1940s musical night will be held in Ironbridge after outgrowing its previous venue in Jackfield.
Last May, more than 500 Second World War re-enactors and huge crowds flocked to Dale End Park for the event held in aid of the Pilgrim Bandits Charity, which supports military staff with serious injuries.
This month's event will be at the Malt House pub and restaurant in the Wharfage on January 22, featuring singers Harmony Bell and Kev Mack, as well as a quiz and a whisky roll. Tanya Lewis, of the organising committee, said: "
The main event in May is the reason we are doing this show. It's going to be even better this year."
