The Arts Centre Telford has recreated the world-famous show at Oakengates Theatre, with more than 100 young performers from all over the West Midlands taking part.

Performances were held over the weekend, and the final show will be held tonight.

The production is fully staged with costume and set, with a large orchestra providing the music.

Ross Doodson, musical director and co-owner of The Arts Centre Telford, said: "Les Misérables has been an incredible opportunity for us as a company but particularly for the young performers.

"This is an iconic musical with some incredibly moving songs and to have the opportunity to perform them as part of the whole production has been so exciting."

TACT stages several large-scale performances a year.

In the spring it will put on All Shook Up, based on the music of Elvis Presley, followed by a production of Jekyll & Hyde in the summer, a joint venture with The Arts Centre Telford's adult company, Voices in Partnership.

Bobby Standley, director and co-owner of the company, said: "We are incredibly lucky, as a company, to have assembled a fantastic team of industry professionals to work with us on our productions.

"Every member of the production team from myself and Ross as director and musical director to the choreographer, stage management and lighting and sound design have trained and worked in the professional performance arena."
